Photogrammetry( perfect texture/ bad geometry) , Lidar (meh texture/perfect geometry) , so just combine both to get the best result.

Are there applications where both LIDAR and photogrammetry are used together? I'm speculating, but I suppose it would be possible to use the point cloud data and the corner references from the 3d renditions created by the photogrammetry algorithm to overlap the two and create a visual recreation that is more accurate.

If you're all about laser scanning, check out degrees like Surveying, GIS, or even dive into Computer Science for the tech side. Mix in some real-world projects or internships, and you're on your way to owning the laser scanning game

How to get it to 3d cad?
Hi we have a RCP file, which we want to insert via shared by coordinates, but the coordinates' are very far away (in a scale like 6000 kms) and we have problems such as it's placing each time at a random place (near the target, but with several cm difference) Is there any solution to this? Tnx
This distance seems to be out of the range of the laser scanners we use for building documentation. Here is some more about the range on our systems, primariliy, Leica Geosystems and P-Series would shoot up to 1km - www.roboticimaging.com/faq

Nice output but was looking for a "how to".
Thanks Warren. Will advise for future videos. Current point cloud automation is through meshing platforms; Pointfuse, AEC.Cinto.com and Edgewise. e57 point cloud --> FBX Mesh --> Revit. Modeling is much easier, but it depends on the project.
